Social Work/Therapist, LMSW
Larissa Browne
I strive to see everyone through the lens of their strengths. My goal is to help clients experiencing anxiety, depression, loss and grief, effects of trauma, or suicidal thoughts, achieve stability and thrive through use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I rely heavily on mindfulness-based practices to increase emotional awareness that is needed before change.
I work with teens ages 12 and up and adults as they navigate change, communication struggles, and painful experiences. My past work experience includes long-term care diversion helping aging persons age in place with community supports, working at a Child Advocacy Center as a Parent Aide with the Parents as Teachers program, and in an Emergency Mental Health program guiding clients in crisis to achieve stability through group and individual therapy.
Living many years in Florida I have volunteered as a coordinator for disaster relief post-hurricanes and coordinated youth groups for children of migrant workers. I graduated from Florida State University with my Master of Social Work and a Certificate in Aging and Gerontology.
